Dan set the paving to line with the kitchen tiles so the view stretches. He checked neighbour levels, tested the drain, and added a little upstand to keep bark chips off the slabs.
He even left spare grout for touch ups. It is the first time the back step has made sense.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping added a narrow gravel seam by the fence. Panels stay clean and sweeping takes minutes.

Dan added a small step by the kitchen doors so trays stop wobbling. The slabs sit flat and the grout lines are tidy.
We’re out there most evenings.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping blended limestone with our brick so the colour sits easy in sun and cloud. They corrected a soft patch with proper sub base and set edging blocks that line up like a ruler.
A slender threshold piece joins the old path so you can’t spot the seam unless it’s pointed out. Even the bins have a sensible route at last. Chairs glide, the hose hides in a nook and the border looks intentionally neat instead of trampled. It’s a calmer garden because the ground behaves.

Dan noticed I always twisted when I served from the kitchen, so he nudged the table four slabs left and set a landing ledge near the threshold. He checked neighbour levels so we didn’t export our water and he added a mat well that sits quietly underfoot.
The fall is enough to work without being obvious. When the storm rolled in last week, nothing crept under the doors and nobody moaned about damp socks. It’s routine now to finish the day outside.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping lifted the broken flags, compacted a proper base and set porcelain that meets our doors perfectly. Dan chalked out the falls, proved the drain with a jug and added a slim upstand to keep soil off the edge.
The soldier course frames the table and the whole terrace feels calm underfoot.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping set sandstone with a gentle texture that wipes with one pass of a brush and rinse. The step by the doors feels safe in slippers and the path to the side gate no longer kinks round the compost bin.
They tucked a tiny drain where the downpipe meets so there’s no little lake after rain. Edges sit crisp, colours stay calm and the whole space seems bigger although the fence never moved. We spend dawn with a mug out there now.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping extended the patio just enough for a six seater while keeping a good run of grass for football. A narrow gravel strip against the fence stops dirty splash, the mower edge looks laser straight and the pointing is neat rather than chunky.
They protected the borders, stacked materials sensibly and kept the lane passable for prams. It all reads intentional from the kitchen window. We’ve already had the neighbours over for tea because the layout makes more sense than our living room.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping tied the new patio into our old path so it reads as one. The pointing finish is neat and easy to clean.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping rebuilt a sunken corner on proper Type 1, stitched the new porcelain to the old path with a slender threshold stone and framed the border with setts that meet perfectly at the corners. Boards kept the lawn decent and the road was swept before the lorry moved on.
The patio feels like it grew here. Breakfast outside has become normal, not an event, because plates don’t wobble and ankles don’t splash. It’s strangely restful to step out and nothing needs fixing.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping used sandstone with a soft texture that wipes clean. They added a narrow gravel seam by the fence to stop splashback and a soldier course to frame the table.
The mower now runs straight along the edge. We keep stepping outside for five minutes that turn into twenty.

Dan warned that our windy corner would bully any chairs left there, so he swung the terrace a few degrees and caught the calmer light. He replaced a wobbly sleeper with tidy setts, added a hose point out of sight and positioned a handrail that doesn’t shout.
He left a small care note with sealing tips in plain English. The next downpour arrived, water moved on and the doors stayed dry. Tiny choices stacked into something we now use without thinking.

Dan suggested a tiny upstand to stop mulch creeping onto the slabs. Looks tidy and saves sweeping.
One of those fixes you notice daily.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping matched the paving to our brick. Steps feel safe and the path to the shed finally reads straight.
Looks like it has always belonged.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping joined new porcelain to the old path with a tidy threshold piece. The seam is invisible and the shed route finally stops chewing the lawn.
