We needed a slab for a heavy garden room plus a retaining nib to hold the bank. Backhouse Construction & Landscaping set shuttering true, mesh on proper chairs and finished with a tidy arris so water sheds instead of sulking along the edge.
The little wall has weep holes and a clean face ready for cladding. They staged deliveries sensibly so the street never blocked. It looks simple on the surface because the hard thinking went in underneath.

Our garden used to squelch after every shower. The crew traced the problem to a failed soakaway and rebuilt it with crates wrapped in geotextile, gravel packed evenly all round.
They tied in the downpipes, relaid turf in snug seams and left the path level with no trip points. Two storms later the grass feels springy, not spongey, and the threshold stays dry. Quiet competence, tidy habits and a result you can feel underfoot every time it rains. Couldn’t ask for more.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping rebuilt drain runs that had been bodged years ago. They traced routes, replaced pipe with proper falls and bedded everything in sand.
Backfill went in lifts so we didn’t end up with sinkholes. They relaid gravel like a carpet and set covers square. Two storms later and water finally behaves. The relief of not mopping thresholds after every shower is hard to describe.

Dan measured falls, marked chalk lines and talked me through the footing depth the inspector wanted. Concrete arrived on time, pour was smooth and the finish looks dead level.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping took our extension from muddy hole to inspected footings within a week. Trenches were neat, steel placed correctly and concrete finished flat.
They managed spoil with boards so the drive stayed clean. Seeing that level of care on groundwork gives real confidence for what comes next.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping replaced an ancient soakaway with crates sized to the roof area. Geotextile wrapped tight, gravel surround even, and the connection to the downpipe is tidy.
They relaid the turf in snug seams. Two storms later the lawn held firm instead of turning to soup. Quiet excellence.

Dan planned a new soakaway with the right capacity for our roof, then connected downpipes and added a slot drain at the patio edge. He checked falls with a laser and walked me through aftercare.
First proper storm came and went. No standing water, no damp smell indoors. Calm job done right.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping took our churned patch of ground and made sense of it in days. Topsoil lifted cleanly, levels checked with a laser and stone compacted till the plate barely twitched.
They fenced safely for the kids and kept the lane clear for prams. Footings boxed neatly, steel sat on spacers and concrete arrived right when promised. The inspector signed off without a fuss. They even rinsed the pavement before leaving. It felt calm and organised from start to finish, which is exactly what you want before brickwork begins.

Dan regraded the back garden to push water to a discreet soakaway. He showed the fall with string so we could picture it, then compacted the stone until the plate danced less and less.
He checked next door’s level to avoid exporting our problem. First proper shower and the patio stayed dry. Calm advice and tidy craft from a very capable bloke.

Dan spotted a buried cable during the first scrape and stopped. He called the supplier, altered the footing plan and kept the programme intact.
Trenches were braced, concrete landed right on time and the finish came up level. He treated our place like his own, which put us at ease straight away.

Dan tackled a tricky retaining wall beside our neighbour’s hedge. He avoided roots, stepped the wall neatly and added weep holes with drainage stone behind.
He ran a water test before leaving which gave us confidence. The bank hasn’t moved a millimetre since and mowing near the edge no longer fills me with dread.

Backhouse Construction & Landscaping formed a retaining wall for our banked lawn. Footings were square, blocks plumb, weep holes spaced right.
They backfilled with drainage stone and trimmed the edge so mowing stays simple. It looks like it has always belonged there and the soil finally stays where it should through a storm.
